Lauren Smedley is a designer from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Her love of museums, stories, materials, and interiors has led her to explore new approaches to accessible museum communication design. She recently graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with an MFA in Design. Her thesis, Six Principles for Redesigning Museum Interpretation, seeks to discover interactive ways museums can provide content to its visitors beyond the traditional label and content panel. During her time at UT she was a Design Fellow at the Design Institute for Health at the Dell Medical School. Before returning to school, Lauren worked as Designer and Design Manager at the Franklin Institute from 2013-2016, and Designer at Level Design from 2010 to 2013. She received her BFA in Graphic Design from the University of the Arts in 2010l. When she's not designing, she's probably riding her bike, eating a sandwich, visiting a museum, or watching PBS Masterpiece.
